I hate that we lost the priviledge to use RS free on line this year. We didn't take full advantage of it for the past 2 years, in fact. When we moved to LA and lived there for just a short 5 months the Ascencion Parish Library allowed free access to patrons of the library to a database, which included RS. All languages. This year they disabled this feature. So, when I saw my friend blog about it I jumped hoping that we'd win a free copy. It is a pricey program. So, if you'd like to enter the drawing, please, read the instructions below.
Rosetta Stone has been the #1 foreign language curriculum among homeschoolers for a while -- next week they are unleashing a brand new curriculum, and you can WIN the *all new* Rosetta Stone Homeschool Version 3… FOR FREE!
This is a $219 program (and believe me it's worth every penny!) and the winner gets to pick from any of these 14 languages: Spanish (Spain or Latin America), English (American or British), Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Irish, Hebrew, or Russian.
This will also include a headset with microphone, and students will participate in lifelike conversations and actually produce language to advance through the program. Rosetta Stone still incorporates listening, reading and writing as well, in addition to speaking. Many homeschoolers requested grammar and vocabulary exercises, and with Rosetta Stone Homeschool Version 3, they're included! For parents, the new Parent Administrative Tools are integrated into the program and allow parents to easily enroll students in any of 12 predetermined lesson plans, monitor student progress, and view and print reports.
To win this most excellent program -- in the language of your choice -- copy these (blue) paragraphs and post it in (or as) your next blog post -- then to enter the contest, go to the original contest page HERE: http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/JenIG/501132/ and leave a comment with the link showing where you blogged about it. And please make sure the link works to get back to the original contest page when you post it. And good luck! The winner will be picked randomly on March 26, and will be notified thru the link they left to their blog pg. And if you have more than one blog, you can post them and enter those separately for more chances to win. Yay for free stuff!

Spring is indeed here with a brand new, my very first slideshow on blogger.
One of my favorite bloggers Angel inspired me once again to open up my world to the spring fresh air. Thank you so much! You didn't worry about not having a current or edited pic, you just blogged it.
I have been so busy trying to catch up with school before we leave to KY for a wedding the week after the official spring break that I totally left all my spring pics on the back burner. I worried about how we are going to take 2 weeks off. But, no more worries. School will get done! We were all getting cranky and it is time to say ENOUGH! TImE for a break!
With first sball and bball practices starting this week I realized how much busier life will be in the next few weeks. It is always a challenge for me to get something planned after schooling and carpooling kids to their extracurricular activities. But, I am taking a break this week to regroup, rethink , replan, recoup, etc.
So, before it gets really busy and games start I am hoping to enjoy this week. First step is almost over with -post some pics and a long overdue blog. I'd love to make some handmade cards for an upcoming wedding and maybe even get the kids started on a lapbook of a country! Grand plans but it's all Lord willing.
So, here is a slideshow of spring pics I took a few weekends ago while biking at Calloway Gardens. I am infamous at procrastinating to edit and post pics. I have fun taking pics but do not care for editing too much. But I really tried hard on these pics but some of them are still very grainy, please, forgive me. I am in the process of learning all the ISO and noise and other photo terms.
Hope you enjoy the pics. I am learning new things every day!. I finally learned how to make thumbnails with a free download program called Easy thumbnails after wasting a few hours trying a useless, confusing program that came with my Canon. After 3 phone calls to my devoted and patient photographer friend Amanda (and a bike ride to get rid of my frustration) I was able to thumbnail a whole folder of pics in a matter of minutes. (thank you so very much, friend, for your patience with me while I persevred) Same for downloading them to Picasa and creating a slideshow! Easy with Picasa. She's been telling me about Picasa all along! But I didn't even have to download it on my comp. I just made a folder on line and embedded the code into the slideshow! How fun! Wow! That's what I call efficiency! Go thumbnails! No more long waiting for downloading them. No more huge pics sent to friends, no more embarassment! Hope you find the blogging and pic uploading easy! It paid off to persevere. I am wiped out but I feel like I;ve got something accomplished.
Blessings.

My new header
Wow! It's been a long time since my last post. I don't know what I'd do if I had a long list of blogger friends who loved reading my blog. If, all of a sudden, something happended and I wouldn't have been able to post I'd feel horrible! People are counting on me! I don't do well under pressure.
But, I hate to admit, I haven't had anything all of a sudden happen lately for me not to blog. Well, life in general is very sudden around here! I thought I'd have more time after ball season was over (2 girls in softball and 1 guy in baseball) but winter didn't slow down. Skipping basketball season didn't do much good. I just got a call from the bball coaching telling us what field to report to for first practice and I decided I will finish this post before the softball coach does his round of calls!
I don't even know how many non-blogging friends read my skimpy blog. But I sure would love to write more often. I don't really have much time for profound, spiritual musings or photos posting but I sure enjoy seeing them up to share with y'all my friends. So for now, all I can brag is my new header created by my friend Amanda. I love it. She just took that neat pic of the kids and embelished it her creative style. Thanks so much, Amanda. Now, if I can figure out what's wrong with my template which won't allow me to display any more links or my fellow blogger friends on the right side bar I'd be good to go. Till next time!
