Our plastic wheelchair story

PCS1 - Part 1 of The Plastic Chair Series from Free Wheelchair Mission on Vimeo.

This is a true story about one of these plastic wheelchairs. Hope you get inspired!

Once there was a very poor man in a very poor country. He was also handicapped. Inside and out. Outside was very obvious. Inside was even more so for his face displayed the sadness and the pain. One days his old Soviet-type wheelchair broke. A Christian family noticed that he wasn't sitting by the road watching cars pass by and asked his wife if he was all right. He is, Ok, indeed, the wife stated. But his wheelchair, his only means of "transportation" is not. It finally broke from the rough terrain he daily put it on. So, the couple started praying for the situation. They didn't have any money to help them out for the dad didn't have a job, hasn't had one in years. Words of faith in God and trusting Him for a new wheelchair didn't help the man either, in fact it made him even more bitter with a God who was "deaf and blind" to his problem. Actions is what he wanted to see. And see he did! Just a few short days later the couple's friend from the rich USA called to check on them and encourage them to hold on in their own hardship filled lives. The friend found out about the need and send ems to all his friends! A small sum was donated and the money was on its way for the handicapped man to purchase a chair. But, there were no chairs to be purchased in that cursed country for the amount collected. So, the man couldn't buy himself a wheelchair but could get some food instead. Little did he know that Jesus really cared about him and his chair. The friend from the rich USA didn't stop at collecting money but continued looking for ways to bless the man and get him a wheelchair. Unfortunately, the mail couriers in the rich USA wanted too much money to ship a chair. But, God has his network people. An awesome ministry offered to take the wheelchair in their yearly container they ship Christmas presents to the poor children in that country. The way the friend found out about that ministry is an another story, for a later post.
So, the friend buys a wheelchair from another great ministry
