I am ready for the spring break! So very ready! In fact, ready is not a strong enough of a word! I guess I can take a break whenever I want to since homeschooling gives me this freedom, but then we'll be on the same page with out public school friends. This way they don't need to ring the doorbell at 10 am (when they wake up after catching up from those early ams when they drive past our house looking for activity :) on a week that we are doing school. So, just a few more days to go and just 2 more weeks till our dad returns for a visit for a whole 10 days!
I am so ready for him to chauffeur the kids for a break. I pulled my back yesterday (too early in the day to be thankful for all things working for the good) and had to get 3 kids to their activities later on in the day when the pain was getting worse and nothing was helping. Out of all the days to pull a back! Check it out: 2 girls started softball practices yesterday and they had to be there for their first time, of course! My son had his aviation meet yesterday too! I was able to successfully drop 2 kids, feed myself and remaining 2 at a BBQ joint (me who doesn't even like BBQ but the kids were ecstatic since eating out with mom is a luxury!), drop the 3rd kid, turn around and pick the first one and take her with 4th one home for a break before realizing that an hour later I'd still have to go get the other 2. Now, if you saw me yesterday bet over and to the side a bit using my cute 7yo to help me get out of the car you'd probably get a good chuckle! I know my BIL and SIL would have had a laughing fit ( I am a bit younger than them, ya know!). But, truly, I did look quite pitiful and felt even worse. My 7yo genuinely offered to run into Kroger and pick up some Ibuprofen for me while I sat in the car. Sweet, huh?! I almost said sure baby, here is 10 bucks and keep the change. It was so tempting! But I didn't, protective parent. Instead I waddled, wincing from pain, every step from the handicapped parking ( I didn't care if I did't have a sticker, I was handicapped that day, right?) lot and went thru a series of spasms that almost stopped me from detouring from my regular chocolate isle run(to get my daily fix of my fav Cacao Nibs chocolate) and I forgot all about Ibu. So, I cut my shopping short and made it home safely to pacify my pain with a few squares of chocolate!
I was so glad when the other 2 kids found rides and I crashed in bed! Today was so much better. After a long visit to the cowcraker (chiropractor) I felt a ton better. He also took care of my shoulder that got hurt NY's day skiing. He hated to admit that it was probably the rotator cuff !!! At least it's my left shoulder! Lor willing, it will all get healed soon!
But really, all in all, I am surviving without my dearest hubby. Please, say a prayer for our family to be reunited. We miss him so much! Protect your back! It is priceless, I tell ya!
